The<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>\u201cYoung Mums Walk and Talk\u201d<\/strong><span>\u00a0<\/span>sessions are a collaboration between<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>Cumberland Council\u2019s Family Hubs<\/strong><span>\u00a0<\/span>and the award-winning social enterprise<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>Happy Mums<\/strong>, designed to offer a safe, welcoming space for young mums to connect, share, and feel supported.<\/p>\n<p>The sessions will run on:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Friday 1st August<\/strong><span>\u00a0<\/span>| 11:00am \u2013 12:00pm<\/li>\n<li><strong>Friday 8th August<\/strong><span>\u00a0<\/span>| 11:00am \u2013 12:00pm<\/li>\n<li><strong>Friday 15th August<\/strong><span>\u00a0<\/span>| 11:00am \u2013 12:00pm<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Held at the<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>Cumberland Family Hub \u2013 Morton<\/strong>, these informal walk-and-talks are open to mums from their teens to early twenties\u2014particularly those who may have felt judged or isolated because of their age. No booking is required; participants are encouraged to simply turn up.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cWe know that younger mums often face unique challenges and may not always feel comfortable accessing traditional support,\u201d said Fay Cardigan <span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">Perinatal Mental Health Coordinator<\/span> for Cumberland Family Hubs. \u201cThese sessions are about building trust, creating community, and making sure young mums know they\u2019re not alone.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The pilot aims to explore what additional support younger mums may need, with a focus on building relationships and listening to their lived experiences. While the sessions themselves are informal and supportive, feedback gathered afterwards will help shape future services.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #383838;\"><strong>About the Partners<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Cumberland Family Hubs<\/strong><span>\u00a0<\/span>are designed to be a one-stop shop for families, offering access to a range of services under one roof. With flexible hours and a welcoming environment, <a href=\"https:\/\/cumberlandfamilyhubs.org.uk\/about-family-hubs\">Family Hubs<\/a> aim to strengthen families, prevent problems before they arise, and provide the tools needed to thrive.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Happy Mums<\/strong><span>\u00a0<\/span>is a peer-led organisation with over a decade of experience supporting maternal mental health. With in-person and online groups, they offer judgement-free spaces for mums to share how they\u2019re really feeling. In Cumbria, where 27% of mums reach out for mental health support during pregnancy or early motherhood, Happy Mums plays a vital role in ensuring no one has to struggle alone.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cEveryone at Happy Mums has their own story,\u201d said Lucinda Bray, Managing Director of Happy Mums. \u201cAnd often younger mums don&#8217;t feel as comfortable to share theirs.
