These vital positions will enable the organization to expand its reach across Cumbria, providing vital support to mothers in need.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to the generous support of the National Lottery Community Fund and Cumbria Community Foundation, Happy Mums is able to recruit dedicated individuals to fill these roles based in Brampton, Carlisle, Cockermouth, Eden (Penrith), Whitehaven, Wigton, and Workington.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=&#8221;4.25.0&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;4_4&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.25.0&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.25.0&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; min_height=&#8221;327.4px&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>The new Community Engagement Coordinators will play a crucial role in connecting with mums in their communities, offering support, and raising awareness of maternal mental health. Through peer-to-peer support groups, awareness campaigns, and training, Happy Mums empowers women to navigate the challenges of motherhood and build a stronger community.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>At least 1 in 5 women experience a mental health problem during pregnancy or within the early postnatal years.<\/li>\n<li>70% will hide or underplay their illness.<\/li>\n<li>Suicide is the leading direct cause of maternal death within a year of having a baby.<\/li>\n<li>Perinatal mental health problems carry a total economic and social long-term cost to society of about \u00a38.1 billion for each one-year cohort of births in the UK.<\/li>\n<li>The Happy Mums Foundation is a Community Interest Company (NOT a charity), although it is currently funded by various charities and public bodies: the National Lottery, The Henry Smith Charity and Cumbria Community Foundation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>About the National Lottery Community Fund:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We are the largest non-statutory community funder in the UK \u2013 community is at the heart of our purpose, vision and name.<\/p>\n<p>We support activities that create resilient communities that are more inclusive and environmentally sustainable and that will strengthen society and improve lives across the UK.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re proud to award money raised by National Lottery players to communities across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, and to work closely with government to distribute vital grants and funding from key Government programmes and initiatives.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As well as responding to what communities tell us is important to them, our funding is focused on four key missions, supporting communities to:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Come together<\/li>\n<li>Be environmentally sustainable<\/li>\n<li>Help children and young people thrive<\/li>\n<li>Enable people to live healthier lives.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Thanks to the support of National Lottery players, we distribute over \u00a3600 million a year through 13,000+ grants and plan to invest over \u00a34 billion of funding into communities by 2030.
