Local Superstars Conquer Mud Run and Raise Over £310 for The Happy Mums Foundation!

Two young local heroes, Betsy Bruce(12) and Stewie Bruce (10), have shown incredible grit and determination by tackling the challenging Gelt Gladiator mud run – all for a fantastic cause!

The intrepid duo from Carlisle set their sights on raising £200 for The Happy Mums Foundation, a social enterprise dedicated to supporting mums and mums-to-be in the local community with their mental health. Not only did they bravely conquer the mud-filled obstacles, but they smashed their fundraising target, collecting an impressive £310!

“I even lost my trainer at one point, but I managed to find it again. It was definitely very muddy!”

This incredible amount will help The Happy Mums Foundation provide much-needed peer support group access for over 70 mums and mums-to-be or cover the annual cost of training and supporting two amazing volunteers who provide invaluable help to families across Cumbria.

“It was tough but a lot of fun to take part in the Gelt Gladiator for Happy Mums, my mum has worked with them for a few years now and we feel really proud to be able to support them. Thank you to all our friends and family who sponsored us”

Lucinda Bray, Managing Director of The Happy Mums Foundation said: “Maternal mental health can affect the whole family, to have children appreciate this and want to help by raising funds for us is fantastic. They are a credit to their community, we are extremely proud of our ‘Happy Mini’s’. Their dedication and fundraising success will make a real difference to the lives of many local mums.”
